CHAPTER 26

THE KEY OF STRESS MANAGEMENT

Cast all your burdens1 and cares2 upon the Lord, for He cares for you, and He will sustain you.  Yes, Call upon the Lord in your day of distress, and He will hear you,3 answer you,4 redeem your soul,5 set you in a large place4 and bring you out of all your distresses.6

Listen to God.  Let His peace rule in your heart,7 and you shall dwell safely, free from fear of evil.8 Don’t allow your heart to be troubled or afraid9 and be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God, and the peace of God which passes all understanding will keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.10 Remember that God will supply all  your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus,11 and He will keep you in perfect peace if your mind is fixed on Him.12

Don’t give up, for God gives power to the faint and to them that have no might, He increases strength.13 Wait upon the Lord to renew your strength, then you will mount up with wings as eagles, run and not be weary, walk and not faint.14 Make God your refuge and fortress,15 placing all your trust in Him16 and you will live in safety,17 preserved from trouble,18 surrounded by mercy,19 guarded by angels,20 sheltered from the storm and shaded from the heat.21

God is our strength, a very present help in trouble.22 Call upon Him in the day of trouble, and He will come to your defense, be your refuge,23 hide you in His pavilion,24 set you upon a rock,24 calm the storm and bring you to your desired haven.25 During troubled times, He will be with you and honor you,26 for His thoughts for you are precious, and great is the sum of them.27 Remember that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them that are the called according to His purpose,28 and He will perfect that which concerns you.29

Jesus said, “Come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart; and ye shall find rest unto your souls.  For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.30 Behold the fowls of the air; for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them.  Are ye not much better than they?  And why take ye thought for raiment?  Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin:  And yet I say unto you, that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.  Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which today is and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall He not much more clothe you, o ye of little faith?  Take therefore no thought for the morrow:  for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself.  Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.”31
